Project Nepal

Project Nepal

In April of 2015, a devastating earthquake struck Nepal. The shake measured up to a magnitude of 7.6 causing immeasurable damage to the surrounding communities of Kathmandu. Thousands of families lost their homes and access to the basic necessities. With monsoon season fast approaching, people needed to act fast.

A fantastic organization, Disaster Aid Canada, responded immediately and began piecing together Disaster Relief Kits. By collecting donations, they were able to create Kits that could provide for families of 10 people including a 3-room tent, blankets, cooking supplies, utensils, water carrying cases and water filtration systems.

Disaster Aid Canada targeted remote mountain villages, in particular, the village of Tindhara. 200 families were living in Tindhara at the time of the earthquake and 98% of their homes were destroyed.

Aeronigma is proud to have been able to partner with Disaster Aid Canada on this project and help with the logistics of moving Kits from Victoria & Vancouver, to the remote community of Tindhara.

Thank you to all the volunteers, Rotary Clubs, students, churches, and other organizations that were involved in the packaging of these Disaster Relief Kits, as well as all of those individuals who donated to this cause and made relief possible. If you want to learn more about how you can help out with projects like this or see some of the other great relief efforts that Disaster Aid Canada is involved with, check out our PARTNERS page!

We are looking forward to the next opportunity we have to lend our resources and help a cause like this.
